The History of the Safety Amulet Necklace
The Safety Amulet Necklace, as a classic jade carving art, traces its origins back to the Ming Dynasty, during the reigns of Emperor Jiajing and Wanli. During this time, a renowned jade carving master from Suzhou, Lu Zigang, infused new artistic vitality into jade pendants with his exceptional craftsmanship and innovative approach.
Lu Zigang's carving style broke away from the stale and overly ornate designs of the era. Using premium jade materials and extraordinary carving techniques, he integrated the arts of seals, calligraphy, and painting into the design of jade pendants. His creations, mostly square or rectangular in shape, featured a sturdy, solid form with both sides engraved with artistic designs and complemented by intricately detailed tops for added beauty. This distinctive style, known as the "Zigang Pendant," laid the foundation for modern jade pendants, defining their basic forms, content, and artistic style.
Since then, jade pendants have evolved from mere adornments into an art form that embodies Chinese cultural heritage. Their design and meaning have continued to enrich over time, making them a cherished symbol of Eastern aesthetics and tradition.

Keep silver in a dark, cool and dry place. Salt water, detergents, harsh chemicals such as chlorine bleach, hairspray, perfume and perspiration can cause damage and discoloration. We use a lot of vintage and reused components in our designs, please make sure to use and store your jewelry according to the care instructions.
