Before this platform existed, I was a jewelry designer living and working in the UK. For years prior to 2012, my days were filled with sketches, gemstones, and the fast-paced demands of Western fashion. I loved the creativity, but I often felt a quiet disconnect. In the galleries of London and Paris, I saw the world finest art, yet I found myself missing the subtle, soulful beauty of the East—the pieces that whisper stories rather than shout for attention.
I realized that while the world had seen Chinese manufacturing, it had rarely seen the true depth of Chinese Artistry—the Intangible Cultural Heritage that has been passed down for thousands of years.
In 2012, I made a life-changing decision. I packed my bags, left my established career in the UK, and moved back to China. I did not just want to sell products; I wanted to revive a standard of beauty.
OrientGem was born from that desire. What started as a personal quest to rediscover my roots has grown into a bridge between two worlds. Today, with teams in both London and China, we do not just curate; we create. We combine the disciplined eye of a jewelry designer with the masterful hands of traditional artisans.

Our Journey: The OrientGem Timeline
Pre-2012: The Designer Eye (UK)
Tiffany Tang works as a professional jewelry designer in the UK. Immersed in European aesthetics and high-end craftsmanship, she hones the skills of quality control and design structure, yet begins to dream of fusing these standards with Eastern heritage.
2012: The Return & The Beginning (China)
The pivotal year. Tiffany returns to China and founds the brand. Starting with a humble workshop, the focus is singular: to find the intersection where traditional Chinese folk art meets modern jewelry design.
2015: The Studio & The Craft (Deep Dive)
We establish our dedicated Handicraft Studio in China. Moving beyond simple sourcing, we begin training artisans to adapt ancient techniques (like Velvet Flower making and Thangka painting) for wearable art. The OrientGem Standard is born.
2019: Building the Collective (Collaboration)
Realizing that one studio cannot hold all of China treasures, we open our doors to independent masters. We launch partnerships with heritage inheritors across the country, empowering them to share their work with a global audience while ensuring fair trade and sustainable livelihoods.
2023: The Global Bridge (UK & China)
OrientGem formally strengthens its global presence with registered entities in both the UK and China. This dual structure allows us to serve our international customers with local efficiency while maintaining our authentic roots.
Today: Sharing the Soul of the East
OrientGem is now a premier platform for Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage. We are more than a brand; we are a storyteller for the East, bringing the warmth of handmade art to thousands of customers worldwide.
